Micro SD Express cards haven’t been the most respondent to price changes since the Switch 2‘s announcement and release a few months ago, meaning actual ‘deals’ on them have been quite scant, so when I find one, I end up jumping up and down.

Argos seem to have been listening to my calls though, as you can grab our traditional top value pick out of the best Micro SD Express cards for Nintendo Switch 2, the 256GB SanDisk card, is £40, which is a return to the best price we’ve seen on one of these cards so far, where it’s usually been £50 or over.

Micro SD Express is the way forward for Switch 2’s expandable storage against the older, now ubiquitous standard Micro SD cards that worked in the old Switch and a range of other devices given they are much faster cards – these SanDisk ones are rated for up to 880MB/s reads and 650MB/s, which make them faster by four times or so than the best Micro SD cards for Nintendo Switch were.

The 256GB capacity will double your Switch 2’s internal capacity to 512GB, minus the usual system portion, of course. It’s storage you may well need considering the size of some Switch 2 games, especially third-party options such as Cyberpunk 2077 that can take up a quarter of the space on the 256GB internal drive as it is.

If you want to grab a Micro SD Express card for Switch 2 on the cheap, this sublime reduction from Argos makes the 256GB SanDisk card the best value out there.
